Talk show ‘Conan’ extended through 2014

Conan's success can be attributed to "Team Coco"

TBS has announced their extension of Conan, the nightly talk show, through 2014. The show debuted in 2010 after its host, Conan O’Brien, said farewell to NBC’s The Tonight Show.

A lot of the credit is given to O’Brien’s “Team Coco,” the name used by his fans to identify themselves as his viewers.  According to the network, the talk show host has more Twitter followers than “any other late-night host.”

No doubt his online fan base is a great one, but it was Conan‘s viewers that triggered TBS to renew the show. Los Angeles Times reported that the show has ranked in 1.1 million viewers in 2012. Though the viewer ratings were not the greatest when Conan first aired, they are increasing.

Both, TBS and O’Brien, are looking forward to another two years together.

“This means I’ll be taping episodes of ‘Conan’ well into the Ron Paul presidency,” the talk show host joked in the release.
