MTV Announces 2014 Video Music Award Nominations

MTV announced the nominations for the 2014 Video Music Awards via SnapChat Thursday morning, and Beyoncé leads the pack with a total of eight nominations. Four nominations were for her “Pretty Hurts” video, two for “Partition,” and two for “Drunk in Love” with husband Jay-Z, including Video of the Year.

Following the superstar in nominations are rap stars Eminem and Iggy Azalea with seven each. Azalea’s “Fancy” is also up for Video of the Year as well as Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” and Sia’s “Chandelier.”

Fans can vote for their favorite videos beginning today at vma.mtv.com. The winners will be announced live from The Forum in Inglewood, California, on Sunday, August 24 and will feature guest performances by Usher, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, and more.
