John Travolta Apologizes to Idina Menzel

John Travolta has apologized to Idina Menzel for butchering her name when he introduced the “Let It Go” singer as Adele Dazeem at the Oscars on Sunday.

Travolta sparked controversy on social media outlets after the mistake, resulting in memes and even a fake Twitter account to go viral. On Facebook an ‘Adele Dazeem Name Generator’ , which purposely messes up any name typed in, became immensely popular.

Travolta says he felt horrible for messing up Menzel’s name during Sunday night’s Oscar broadcast and apologized to the “Let It Go” Oscar winner.

“I’ve been beating myself up all day,” Travolta said in a statement released to AP. “Then I thought … what would Idina Menzel say? She’d say, ‘Let it go, let it go!’ Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!”
