Dwayne Carter Jr., better known as Lil Wayne, owes the IRS $12 million in unpaid taxes.
According to the lien filed with the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Court’s office, the “A Milli” rapper owes $12,155,084.64 ($5.8 million for 2011 and $6.3 million for 2012) in back taxes to the IRS. This is not the first time Wayne has owed the IRS money; he paid the IRS $7 million in 2012 in back taxes that he owed for the 2008-2009 period.
The 31 year-old has an estimated net worth of $135 million and is one of hip-hop’s top earners. Last year Wayne released his tenth studio album, I Am Not A Human Being II, and earned $16 million from revenue off the album and his TRUKFIT clothing line.
Wayne’s publicist said the IRS issue was being investigated and that “Lil Wayne’s tax attorney and accountant are looking into the matter.”
