Mass Effect 3 Fans: Meet ‘CeltShep’

The Mass Effect masses have spoken: Commander Jane Shepard is fierce, heroic and … a ginger.

Affectionately dubbed “CeltShep” by fans, the red-haired Shepard will be the default “FemShep” in BioWare’s upcoming sci-fi RPG Mass Effect 3.

Based on promotional artwork, “CeltShep” is a ferocious specimen:

Her hair bridges the gap between “groomed” and “unkempt”. A delicate, yet imperfect side part complements the longer lengths of hair swept cleanly behind Shepard’s ears. It’s a piecy look that conveys femininity with “Hey, I think you’re pretty neat, but respect the distance.”

In short, I’d say “CeltShep” is a healthy mix of Woad Raider (without the Woad) and a stone-cold fox.

The default “FemShep” appearance was the culmination of a month-long voting process, heated debate and much gnashing of teeth.

Fans voted for hairstyles in the first round of voting and chose hair color in the second, final round.
