First Look: ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Trailer

The first full trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past was released today and will hit theaters on May 23, 2014.

Time travel will be the heart of this plot. “Present and future versions of the X-Men are linked by an assassination of a key senator that sets off a chain of events leading to a dystopian future where mutants are hunted into virtual extinction.”

Ian Mckellen (Magneto) and Patrick Stewart (Professor X) will be returning for Days of Future Past, along with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, the two actors who played the younger versions of their characters in the 2011 prequel, X-Men: First Class.

Fan favorite and most popular X-Man of all, Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) will be returning for his seventh X-Men role. Jackman must be sent back in time to convince the young Charles Xavier to prevent the cataclysm from taking place.

Jackman told NY Daily News, “I love this character, and I never take for granted the opportunity I have to play what I think is one of the cooler, more interesting, multilayered comic book characters, particularly with this one I have wanted to do the story. At some point my body will give up, but right now I’m enjoying it more than ever.”
