The Chainsmokers Release New Song Titled ‘Kanye’

Following the success of their breakout hit “#Selfie,” The Chainsmokers are back with another buzzworthy single. The NYC-based production duo has unleashed a brand-new track titled “Kanye,” and it’s all about how to be like Kanye West.

Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall (known together as The Chainsmokers) made hip-hop icon Kanye West the role model for self-esteem in their new song. “It’s about just owning it no matter what you’re doing,” said Alex Pall, explaining that Kanye should be thought of as an adjective, not a noun. “Whether you’re on top of the world partying in a penthouse or you’re driving an old car playing your favorite song, it’s about enjoying the moment you’re in and feeling like you’re the king.”

Unlike “#Selfie,” “Kanye” is a shockingly heartfelt personal anthem, with guest vocalist Siren desperately pleading to have the confidence and pure finesse of Kanye West. “I want to be like Kanye / I’ll be the king of me always / Do what I want, I’ll have it my way / All day, like Kanye,” she sings in the chorus of the song.

Take a listen to The Chainsmokers’ new and up-lifting Kanye-inspired track and let us know what you think about the “#Selfie” follow-up in the comments below.
